Update Your bathroom Vanity with a Vessel Sink

Vessel sinks are a relatively new item in bathrooms, and can really make a dramatic difference in the overall look of your bath.

When replacing a sink and faucet in a bath, think about installing an above counter sink for a major change.

Even a laminate countertop will look dramatically upscale with the addition of a vessel sink.

Do some shopping online where there is a wide variety of styles, colors, shapes and materials. At the home improvement you will see usually five or six different styles, but there are so many more.

For example:

there are glass vessel sinks that come in every color imaginable. Everything from clear glass to vibrant fuschia or deep sea blue to, yes even purple. And they are not all round. Some are square-ish with rounded corners and others though round may have a fluted edge. Or, how about one shaped like a flower?

Above counter sinks of different materials are also available. There is the standby porcelain in many shapes and contours, copper, stainless steel, marble and other natural materials.

Vessel sink shapes are also interesting. Some material are harder to shape than others, such as glass, but even glass comes in different shaping, contours, and embossed designs.

Of course, your new vessel sink will need a faucet. A few vessels are designed with a ledge where the faucet can be installed right on the sink, but in most cases the faucet is installed on the countertop.

There are many interesting types of faucets available to use with a vessel sink, some are called gooseneck faucets. These days there are also many wonderful faucet finishes to complement your new sink.

Shop around and see what style vessel sink and faucet are most pleasing to you, and update your vanity and make it a real focal point in your bath.
